Home Electrification involves switching all or some of your major home appliances from combustion options to electrified ones. There are already homes in the Rochester area that have been able to achieve full electrification and you can too. Fully-electric is 100% possible in Minnesota’s climate.

Get an energy audit. This will help you identify areas of your home that are using more energy or losing more heat than necessary. You can use this audit to offer guidance on small and large update to use less power.

Your Electrical Planning

Work with an experienced electrician and share your long-term goals up front. Even if you aren’t planning to switch everything over at once, share the long-term plan so the electrician can plan your future setup and power needs.

Service Upgrade

Because you will be using additional electricity instead of combustion fuels, this may require a service upgrade. Luckily, there are Federal incentives that help offset this cost. You may also be able to avoid a service upgrade with smart panels.

Adding Home Solar

If you plan to utilize home solar, it may be beneficial to get your electrified appliances in place first in order to properly size your solar system.
